Can i know what is the configuration of your computer to find the problem with mine

Make sure your system is up to date (Windows updates) and maybe some antivirus or malware software is causing trouble. Try to run somedit with this software turned off. You could also try to redownload the somedit and the fmod dll (choose the right one! x64 or x86).

Good luck.

i don't have any anti-virus, all update are installed and i have download 2 times every release but thank you for your proposition

Using the wrong fmod won't crash it - you'll get a message on the status bar saying it's missing or invalid.

Personally I'm running xp prof 32 on an x64 cpu, 4 gig of ram, .NET 3.5 (i think- unable to check right now). Fmod 32 bit.

Trying to think what else might screw with it. Is it sitting in a read-only directory? It tries to make a config file in the same directory.

i try on a nother of my computer he works so i think somedit don't work on win7 ultimate x64 sp1
Posted by Mop on Dec 2, 2011, 9:05am
What was the other computer running? Xp?

I don't have a comp with win7 handy but maybe I could install it to a VM and try somedit on it.

Edit: have you tried running in "compatibility mode?" I'm still not convinced that even does anything, but it's worth a shot.

All versions of windows 7 come with .net.wether 32 bit or 64 bit.only on xp would it require you to install.read second answer.

an easy way would be if people posted thier setup ups and list what(if any) errors came up so you could narrow it down.

my setup = windows 7 64 bit sp1 (.net included 3.5.1) with fmod 64 bit version and everything runs fine....

as retrohelix said one thing might be virus (from a different program) that is not letting somedit run....

50% of the time programs or games dont run for me its due to missing vc++ files....i have microsoft visual c++ 2005,2008,2010 redistributable both x86 and x64

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632

the easiest and safest solution is a fresh win7 install...it lets you know everything is gone wether virus, corrupt programs etc and also you now get to see what programs you are installing.

Also see blog for updates, and dropbox for builds/other files. ***** NOTE: please use the following board for SOM hacking discussion from now on: ACMLM Secret of Mana Hacking Board *****
