Thank you very much for releasing the first preliminary version of somedit, Mop!
I've been following the project closely for many a year now via the blog, and it's incredible to finally see it in action first hand, even if it is a preliminary release.
Heh, you scared me for about a year there without any updates regarding the project, but I was told just recently that you are still going strong on it, and then bam! here it is.
Great job, Mop, Enker, and any others that are involved in or helped out the project, it is truly looking wonderful so far and it is a lot of fun checking out all the features. Event hacking will be a breeze, and I love the in-depth music editor, I've been rocking out to it now for a couple hours; and of course the maps! Christmas has indeed fallen early this year for SoM hacking enthusiasts everywhere.
Question: Are you planning a monster stats and a possible A.I. feature to make it in eventually? And while I'm at it, a spells and items/equipment to. I love all the features that are included here, I'm just wondering is all.
That would make it the "end all" SoM multi-editor for sure. I mean, it already is, but...yeah.
Wow ginattack, you need to slow your roll down. Let the man complete his editor on his time and on his terms. Do you really think he would NOT code those important features in his editor? Give him time.
I think Mop's done a fantastic job so far and we should encourage more than pester when posting about it.
You're right, and I apologize if I came off sounding too forward and/or ungrateful, as that was not at all my intention, but I can see how it might come off that way. I am more than happy and excited for what IS here at the moment, and I understand adding more things like that will take time. I shouldn't have even asked!
No worries. While you're waiting for updates see if you can get some bugs and error documented. That's what I'm going to try and do to help Mop out with the debugging process.

Thanks again Mop, very nice job - keep it up!
BBBIIIIGGGGG UUPP
Thank you a lot Mop, I always dreamed of a SOM editor, and you realize this dream.
Thanks everybody. And yeah, plenty of fun stuff is planned, it's just a matter of when I have the time to do it. I would eventually like everything you could conceive of being editable to be editable. Things like stats are easy - I actually have them half-implemented right now, the pane just doesn't show up when you select it. Enemy AI is accomplished through a little table of commands that I found one time that will eventually be editable as well.
Lol, yeah! Even though I pretty much knew it wasn't going to be there, I tried looking for -any- further evidence of what that strange circular carousel/race track object seen over Empire Northtown may be.
Yes, that's it, the giant circular object with things moving around it. I have thought of it being that fountain, and the moving objects around it could be people possibly walking around it, but I'm not too sure about that. For one thing, there are a lot of fountains in Southtown and Northtown. Why represent just one? And people aren't shown on the map in any other town.
So I've always assumed it was one of the many things that they had to scrap from the game due to time restraints, something that could have been used for a kind of bonus area. And that there may be some trace of it around still. Wishful thinking, I'm sure lol.
But who really knows, the fountain idea works for me!
Great Thanks for your hard work on the editor, Mop!
In the last year I've checked your site only a few times, and today I visited it while I sort out some links in my browser! And my heart was beating faster because an editor for my all-time favourite video game would be totally awesome. My knowledge in rom-hacking isn't very impressive, but if I have some time in the next weeks I'd love to help finding bugs and make some suggestions for improvement.
Also see blog for updates, and dropbox for builds/other files. ***** NOTE: please use the following board for SOM hacking discussion from now on: ACMLM Secret of Mana Hacking Board *****
